Home Security Projects for Raspberry Pi eBook Tim Rustige

The Raspberry Pi, in all its incarnations, has become the darling of the IoT world for very good reasons. It's versatility is shown in this book by the way it can handle the multitude of home security needs with wonderful adaptability. The book covers building a range of low cost home security devices that are very suitable for extending the physical security of the home to include electronic sensors and surveillance cameras. The examples are well pictured and explained in detail for the inexperienced experimenter.

The examples apply to the B model, but they can be extended to the B+ model as well. If you don't need to connect the Pi to the central system by way of ethernet cable the A+ can be used as well.

The range of projects in the book will give the home owner a greatly expanded degree of electronic security. However, the unstated understanding is that these security devices need to be connected to a central computing system for recording pictures and determining security breakage timelines. The user will need to look at other Raspberry Pi books because this book only refers to using Putty on the PC to access the information on the Pi.

I believe that this book is an excellent start on developing the whole home security system and worth all five stars.
