When Charlotte Cartwright was a fourteen-year-old girl, her father decided to run for the office of President of the United States of America. The problem was that no one knew who he was or took him seriously.
One day, during a speech, someone in the crowd asked him what his position about crime was. Then the man in the crowd asked what he did when his own five children misbehaved. Charlotte's father confessed that he spanked his children when they needed it, embarrassing Charlotte all the way to her bones.
That sparked a nationwide discussion. In fact, it even made international news. When Prince Nasser saw Charlotte on the news, he proclaimed that he would marry her one-day. His father tried to explain why a rich Muslim Prince couldn’t marry a commoner from the United States.
Prince Nasser countered that he would be allowed to marry the President’s Daughter. Against his better judgment, King Saahir sent Linus Cartwright money to further his campaign.
Soon after Linus Cartwright won, terrorists brought the world to a brink of a war. The Unites States needed strong ties to an Arabic country so they’d be in the best position for a counterattack.
Prince Nasser offered to take Charlotte's hand in marriage when she turned eighteen. It would be an arranged marriage to prove that Christians and Muslims can live together peacefully and the marriage would form a strong financial and military alliance.
Will she marry a man she doesn’t know to bring peace to the world?
Can they form an allegiance that will inspire other countries to join their noble cause fighting back terrorists?
Will she be able to set aside the stereotypes that haunt her and give her heart to the beautiful stranger who calls her his love?

This romance book contains sensual scenes as well as a few spanking scenes. If such things offend you, please don't buy the book.

The sexy times were hot. They gave each other their v-cards, which for me added to the romance and hotness level. Also they stayed faithful to each other which I loved. It was not only acceptable but expected for royalty to have multiple wives. His father, the king did. However the hero in this story had no desire for other women and it is believable that he will stay faithful to the heroine for the rest of their lives.

Unfortunately their were things in the story that detracted for the romance. The story needs additional editing. I am not picky about stories having perfect grammar and word usage but the story had enough mistakes that I norticed and occasionally had to go back and reread a sentence to determine what the author meant to write. Also the spanking by both her father as an older teenager and later her husband bothered me. There was nothing sexy about her husband whipping her. It was done when he was really angry with the intention of causing pain. He succeeded. She cried and as red and sore for days. The he expected her to have smex with him shortly thereafter. So not hot but rather a turn off for me. Her father beating her and her siblings when they are older teenagers and adults was creepy and disturbing to me.

However the story was interesting and I could not put it down. I gave up a decent nights sleep to finish it and am not sorry that I did despite beIng tired. That is why I only sutracted one star for things that bothered me.

It was good
Very good book )
Wonderful
This is a very unique book it's not for everyone but it's worth a read....
I got pretty bored in the beginning. Almost put the book down but it picked up in the end. The first half of the book was hard to read, but it ends up good.
I read many, and I mean MANY books very few anymore really stick with me after I've finished reading them. This one has and that alone is extremely impressive. Yes, this book has grammatical errors but, the plot is so unique it doesn't bother me that much. The hero is amazing, so adoring of his heroine and I couldn't help but love him. This book hit all of my buttons to make it a great romance book!
I've read all of Ms Burns' work to date so I decided to give this one a try even though it wasn't a Unlimited book. This one wasn't my favorite. This is the story of Charlotte and Nasser. She's a shy, passive person with self-worth problems. He's a confident and gentle man. She's well loved by her family, but is the kind of person who can quickly lose faith that she is loved. Nasser falls in love with her at first sight when they were both teens. His loving father helps support Charlotte's dad and helps maneuver things so that, years down the road, Nasser can marry her. She doesn't really notice Nasser at all until after they're engaged. The backdrop to this story is the Muslim-extremist terrorist movement. In this book, the terrorists have a lot of power and are slowly taking over the world. Charlotte and Nasser's marriage is a symbolic gesture to show that there can be peace and love between the two religions and cultures. Charlotte slowly falls in love with Nasser over the course of their two years together (when the book ends). There is some drama with the terrorists but it's pretty mundane. Frankly, I think terrorists would have been 1000 times more cruel because they'd want to make an example of her to show that love and acceptance between Chistians and Muslims doesn't pay. But that's just me. I'm giving it three stars because the heroine wasn't likable and the connection between the two didn't feel real. The author missed a lot of chances for them to connect over sharing what is special in each culture and religion. And the spanking thing was out of left field. If she'd been spanked her whole life, she would not be so shocked to her core when her husband did it. She made Nasser the bad guy for disciplining her, but when her father spanked her, she felt guilty way out of proportion to her transgression. Lastly, there are quite a few spelling and grammatical errors. If I'm going to spend cash on a book, I expect the author to re read it and correct the errors.

If you're reading this author for the first time I'd suggest trying Pain and Regret, Have a Heart or Trust in Me. All are good reads.
